Fast growing deciduous tree that grows to 15 - 25 m tall.
Long strips of small leaves 30 - 60 cm long.
Bright yellow flowers with orange stamens that blossom from March to June and September to November.
10 cm long black seed pods which ripen to a dark red.

This highly ornamental Northern Territory native tree is popular in south Florida.
Red Flame Tree (Poinciana) will look similar when not it flower but its flowers are red and its seed pods are longer (20 - 70 cm) and remain on the tree for most of the year.
