ClimateWatch- Finalist in the 2013 Premier's Sustainability Awards
Wednesday, 11 September 2013
It is with great excitement to announce that ClimateWatch has been named a Finalist in this year's Premier's Sustainability Awards.
ClimateWatch has been recognized under the Community Category for fostering citizen scientists through technology by developing a convenient way of recording species using the mobile phone. The ClimateWatch mobile app is free and allows every Australian the opportunity to record seasonal behavioural changes in plants and animal species. Once validated, the recorded information will be publicly available through the Atlas of Living Australia and will help scientists understand how Australia's biodiversity is responding to the impacts of climate change.
The announcement of this award affirms the commitment ClimateWatch is undertaking in responding to climate change and the value of citizen science data.
Winners of the award will be announced on Tuesday 22 October 2013.
You can also vote for ClimateWatch as the People's Choice Award and be entered to win $500 LEDified home lighting package.
