April 2016 - Inspiring Citizen Science at Illawarra EEC


ClimateWatch can be used by teachers to support students learning how to work scientifically, investigate living things and demonstrate caring for the environment by contributing to scientific research. The marine environment and experiential nature of the investigation provides a stimulating context to pique students’ scientific curiosity.

At the Illawarra EEC we've continued our efforts to optimise ClimateWatch for our teaching. These efforts include three day science camps during which students undertake rocky shore surveys.  We've made great use of technology by having students create ebooks about their work to inform, instruct and inspire others to become involved in Climatewatch.

From this work we have developed a one day ClimateWatch program as an opportunity for students to bring their own device. Here's the link to that program:
