About Earthwatch

Orchard Swallowtail Butterfly David Cook

At Earthwatch our ultimate goal is a sustainable planet; one where every part of the global ecosystem thrives without compromising any other part and where the diversity of life flourishes. We believe in the power of ordinary people to achieve that goal.

Get involved locally

Our 'Scientist for a day' events offer a unique opportunity to experience real conservation in an urban setting. It’s just one day and close to home, so everyone can get involved. Find out more at Earthwatch

See the world

Do you want to travel, see the world and discover what real conservation is all about? Earthwatch expeditions are the perfect challenge for the environmentally conscious traveller.  Find the right expedition for you.

Your generous donation will go towards funding valuable scientific research in Australia, such as:

  • measuring the impact of marine rubbish on endangered turtles.
  • understanding why frogs are vanishing and measuring ecosystem health.
  • monitoring the effects of introduced species such as cane toads on our unique wilderness.

"Being an Earthwatch volunteer was an incredible experience. Working with people who have a passion for conservation is the most empowering and positive journey I've ever been on" Leisa D, Volunteer
